A decade after ICD-10 s implementation, NCHS officials say they have seen both the good and the bad. ICD-10 has provided them with more specific data, which has been beneficial to NCHS s work in categorizing mortality statistics. But the transition to ICD-10 was a bumpy one for mortality coders and statisticians, according to Robe Anderson, PhD, chief of the mortality statistics branch of the Division of Vital Statistics, National Center for Hea Statistics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
